Production methodprocess of Dibutyl maleate Liquid
Using maleic anhydride and butanol as raw materials, the esterification was catalyzed by sulfuric acid, and the reaction products were neutralized, washed, dealcoholized, distilled and filtered to obtain Dibutyl maleate CAS 105-76-0
1. Traditional esterification method (mainstream process)
Raw materials: maleic anhydride (maleic anhydride) and n-butanol.
Catalyst: sulfuric acid (traditional), p-toluenesulfonic acid (yield 95.6%), solid acid (such as ferric chloride).
Steps:
Esterification of anhydride and alcohol under catalyst, reflux and water separation (70 minutes);
The reaction solution is neutralized, washed with water, dealcoholized, and purified by distillation.
2. Alternative synthesis route
Butyl formate method: reaction with maleic acid, the yield is only 6%;
Transesterification method: reaction of dimethyl maleate with butanol, a highly active catalyst is required.
3. Process optimization
The use of p-toluenesulfonic acid can avoid sulfuric acid corrosion of equipment, and the yield is higher;
Raw material consumption quota: maleic anhydride 400kg/t, butanol 820kg/t
