Nystatin powder, also known as mycin or mikodine, is an antifungal drug. It is yellow or yellowish brown powder with special odor and moisture-inducing properties. Slightly soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, insoluble in acetone, ether and chloroform. It is unstable to air, light, heat, water, acid or alkali. Antifungal antibiotics. Nystatin is a polyene antifungicin with conjugated polyene macrolide structure, which can inhibit the activity of fungi but has no inhibitory effect on bacteria.
