It is yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter in taste, and can cause metamorphism when exposed to light. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in hydroxide or carbonate solutions of alkali metals. The antibacterial profile of Minocycline hydrochloride was similar to that of tetracycline. Staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus and Escherichia coli resistant to tetracycline are still sensitive to this product.
