Paeoniflorin is derived from the roots of Peony, peony and purple peony in Ranunculaceae family. It has the functions of vasodilating, analgesic and sedative, anti-inflammation and anti-ulcer, antipyretic and antispasmodic, and diuretic. Paeoniflorin powder is hygroscopic amorphous brown powder (90% white powder), [α]16D-12.8. (C=4.6, methanol), tetraacetate is colorless acicular crystal, melting point: 196℃. Paeoniflorin is stable (pH2 ~ 6) in acidic environment, but unstable in alkaline environment. Paeoniflorin powder can inhibit the oxidative stress injury of histiocytes, inhibit the activation of astrocytes and enhance nerve protection
