Uses and synthesis of Baicalein powder

Baicalein powder, also known as baicalein, is an important active ingredient in the traditional Chinese medicine scutellaria baicalein and Chrysopyra, with significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-tumor and other pharmacological activities. Baicalein CAS 491-67-8 is mainly found in scutellaria baicalein, hence its name. Baicalein Raw Materials can reduce cerebral vascular resistance, improve cerebral blood circulation, increase cerebral blood flow and inhibit platelet agglutination. It is clinically used for the treatment of paralysis after cerebrovascular disease.

1. A flavonoid compound that is an inhibitor of xanthine oxidase.

Physicochemical Property of Baicalein powder

Baicalein Raw Materials Yellow crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMSO and other organic solvents, from the roots of scutellaria baicalein. Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate and hot glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in chloroform, soluble in dilute sodium hydroxide is greenish-brown, but unstable, easy to oxidize to green.

Production methodprocess of Baicalein powder

The root of scutellaria baicalensis was extracted and crushed, boiled with water for 3 times, combined with the extracted liquid, filtered and added acid to adjust the ph value to 4, and then left to stand after mild hot stirring and centrifugation to separate the precipitate. The precipitate is washed in water with a ph of 4 and dried to a coarse product. Baicalein powder was obtained by boiling the coarse product in 1.2mol·L-1 hydrochloric acid for several hours and then cooling and filtering to remove the precipitation.
